Weekend Recap

My weekend started early Friday morning.
Olivia, my Nanny & I went to Murray to eat at Dumplins
and then went to Wal-Mart to do some grocery shopping.
Here's Olivia before we left.
I just love this little outfit. =)
After some good food and shopping,
we came back home and
spent a much needed quiet afternoon at the house.
Since it's been pretty chilly outside,
we decided to just stay in for the night and
I made some chicken noodle soup.
My parents came over and ate with us
and mom & I worked on Owen's curtains in his room.
(I'll have to post some pics later)
After they left, this was the scene of Ben & Olivia.
She is such a mess.
She will lay in the floor with her head on pillows, her stuffed animals,
blankets, anything soft and make the cutest little face.
During one of her 100th times of doing this,
Ben laid down in the floor beside her.
Too precious. =)
Saturday,
it was pouring down rain, cold rain, at that, but that didn't stop us,
we decided to take Olivia to see Santa at the mall.
I wasn't really sure how she would do.
I was hoping for a cute "happy" picture of her and "Ho Ho,"
but as you can tell from the picture above,
that was not the case.
She did not like Santa.
So all of us had to get our picture taken with Santa.
(Yeah, it looks real lovely, not so much).
After the lovely Santa melt-down,
we went to eat lunch and came home and relaxed.
It was a nice quiet evening at home.
Sunday,
we woke up to it snowing!
YAY!
Our first snow of the year!
I don't know why, but I've been one of those crazy people
who has been wishing and dreaming of SNOW!! =)
So finally, it's here. YAY!
So anyways, we got up and went to church
and then I needed to go back to Wal-Mart to get some
more milk and extra food so we wouldn't have to get out anymore.
Before we left for church
I put some pinto beans on in the crock-pot.
I don't know what it is about winter
and the cold weather and the snow,
but I was CRAVING a warm, comfort-food type of meal.
So when we got home,
I fixed some mashed potatoes with gravy, cornbread,
added summer sausage to the beans and baked a picnic ham
& then I made some chocolate chip cookies.
YUMMY!
It's a good thing I don't have cravings like that more often
because Ben & I would end up weighing 500 lbs. Ha.
But, boy it sure was good.
Last night, my parents came over again and ate with us.
They took Olivia home with them to spend the night.
I'm so glad they did because this morning we woke up
and it's 10 degrees outside!!
Yes, it is COLD!!
So I'm glad I didn't have to get
my little sweetie pie out this morning.
Thanks Mom & Dad!! =)
I hope everyone had a good weekend!
I know we sure did!

HAPPY MONDAY!

Oh by the way, please be praying for us.
We finally have my c-section scheduled for December 30th
unless I happen to go into labor before then.
I go back to the doctor today,
just for a check-up,
so we'll see.

Little Owen's Room

So... when I was pregnant with Olivia
we had her room done, finished, complete
(I think you get the point)
by the time I was 20 weeks pregnant.
Everyone says with your second child things are different.
I definitely believe them.
Owen's room still isn't 100% complete.
I mean, come on, Ben just finished painting
and getting the furniture moved in a few weeks ago
and there's nothing on the walls and
we didn't even have a rug or a lamp until yesterday.
Thankfully my mom went shopping
and bought a rug and a really cute lamp.
So here's what his room looks like so far...
Here's his sweet little bed.
I just LOVE his bedding.
I can't believe that I found all of it at Twice Upon A Time
(a consignment store in Lone Oak).
I got the bedding, bumper, valance, diaper stacker & quilt all for $60!
Yeah a really good deal!!
Here's my glider, yes I know that it is pink,
but that was because it was first in Olivia's room
and I had also bought it from Twice Upon A Time
last year for $50!
And it first came from Babies In Bloom... yeah $50.
I can totally deal with the pink. LOL!
Here's his little dresser and his new lamp.
We originally had his changing table on this wall,
but I decided to rearrange last night
and I'm liking the dresser on this wall instead.
Then here's his changing table.
I just LOVE his furniture.
We bought it from a friend of ours for a really good price!
Now only if we can get some pictures on the wall
his little room will be complete!

Grandparents

I think Olivia's shirt sums up my feelings about
Grandparents quite nicely...
Who needs Santa... when I have Grandma?

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I don't know about you,
but Christmas is in full swing around our house.
I'm so excited because Olivia has several Christmas outfits
and she can finally wear them! =)
(I'm a nerd, I know). ha!
Here she is from this past weekend...
Is this not the cutest outfit?
My mom got it for her last year at Plaid Rabbit
at their end of the year sale.
I just LOVE IT!!
Sorry for the poor picture quality...
I was using my IPhone.
And then here she is with her "Aunt Allie."
I just love this little outfit too.

I'm so excited because Christmas is just right around the corner.
This will be Olivia's first "real" Christmas where she can actually open her own presents and have somewhat of an idea of what's going on.
This year we will also be welcoming Baby Owen into our lives!
I can't wait.
Yes, we're going to be busy busy busy,
and our hands may be FULL,
but so will our hearts!

Olivia 13 Months

Olivia...
You are now 13 months old!!
What are you up to these days...
You LOVE remotes and cell phones!
You're so funny because you will pick up a remote or cell phone
and put it up to your ear and say "Hi!"
It's the cutest thing.
And just the other night you took the t.v. remote,
pointed it toward the t.v. and changed the channel. ha!
You are one smart little girl. LOL!

You've really started walking more the past few days.
(I'm so glad..
I was starting to think that you were never going to walk).
You look so cute when you walk because you're so little,
it's really sweet to watch.
You also love walking on the couch.
This makes me a nervous wreck,
but you just think it's the greatest thing in the world!

We're trying to break you from your bottle and
so far I think we've done a pretty good job.
You only get a bottle at night before you go to bed
and that's only sometimes.
Other times we can put you in your bed with just your paci
and you go right off to sleep.

At your 12 month check-up the doctor told us to get rid of your bottle and your paci,
but I just can't take everything away from you at one time.
I mean, come on, you do have a little brother on the way
and he's going to have a bottle and a paci,
so as long as we get rid of all of it before you go to school
I'll be happy. ;-)

You're a talking machine!
You just rattle and rattle!
Half of the time I have absolutely no clue what you're saying,
but you sure are telling me about it.
Words that you say the most are:
Hi, Mama, Dada, Bye, Baby, sometimes Bubba, Mimi, Pop Pop (referring to Poppy), sometimes Pa (referring to PaPaw), sometimes Pap Paw.
Those are the only ones I can really think of right now.
And girlie, YOU LOVE TO EAT!!
Whew, you eat and eat and eat!
We've only found one thing that you don't like
and that's the pasta salad from Majestic.
Your daddy gave you some the other night
and you took it out of your mouth.
I was in shock because usually you'll eat anything. Ha!
You are really starting to like your sippy cup.
You LOVE water and your now starting to like juice a little more.

You're just growing up too fast!
It's hard to believe that your 13 months old
and in just another month you're going to be a BIG SISTER!!
WOW!
We're definitely going to have our hands full!
But I wouldn't trade it for the world!

We love you sissy girl!!
You make our lives COMPLETE!

Blogging Hiatus

I apologize for the unintentional blogging break,
but to say that we have been busy is an understatement.
We have been running on full-speed for the past couple weeks...
I'm ready for things to slow down so we can just relax,
but I'm not really seeing an end in sight at the moment.

Anyways, I hope that you had a great Thanksgiving!
I know we sure did.
We spent Thanksgiving over at Ben's parents and it was DELICIOUS!!
His mom always makes the absolute BEST turkeys
and this year was nothing short of it!
The food was SOOOO GOOD! (As it always is)! =)

Olivia enjoyed some of it too.
I think she had some dressing, mashed potatoes and deviled eggs.
She's a bottomless pit! ;-)
I thought she looked pretty cute in her turkey attire. =)

Thursday night (Thanksgiving night),
we went started our Christmas shopping.
My dad kept Olivia for us.
We started at 10:00 Thursday night
and finished around 6:00 Friday morning.
Just a word to the wise..
this is NOT something you do when you're 34 weeks pregnant!
I took a couple of naps in the car in between places,
but geez it liked to have killed me!
I'm so glad that Austin and Allie went with us
because there's NO WAY that we could have gotten everything done
by ourselves!!
We went to Toys R Us, Kohl's, Wal-Mart & Sears...
That's all, and yes it took ALL night!
Crazy, I know!
But I have to look on the bright side,
my Christmas shopping is now DONE!!
WHOO HOO!!
Now all I have to do is wrap all the presents,
any takers?

Wordless Wednesday

Happy Hump-Day!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

I've never been one to have my Christmas tree up before
Thanksgiving unless we have Thanksgiving at our house and
then I usually put it up the week of Thanksgiving.
However, this year... since I'm preggo and all...
and I still have some energy...
I started decorating for Christmas over the weekend. =)
I think that Ben was ready to pass out.
He's not one for "early" Christmas decorations,
but he understands the circumstances and
he's been a pretty good sport about it. ;-)
Here's our main tree =)
A different view...
I have to say this is my most FAVORITE tree that I've decorated.
Our stockings.
I'm a little upset because I bought these stockings last year the day after Christmas
and I only bought 3 of them...now I need 4.
The entryway
My new wreath for the front door!
I just LOVE it!!!

I have to say, I do agree with Ben,
I've never been one for Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving,
but now that we have most of our stuff up,
I'm absolutely LOVING it!!! =)

Happy Holidays!!!!

She takes her riding around. =)

Life, Love & Happiness

I initially started blogging because
it created sort of an online scrapbook for me.
It's quick & easy and it allows me to be able to
look back and see what all was going on in our lives
at certain times and to see how Olivia has grown, etc.
Obviously I mainly blog about Olivia...
However, today, with this post, it's my "venting" from all the pregnancy hormones
that I've been experiencing and unfortunately unleashing.
I'll throw in a couple of pictures of Olivia for good measure,
but I've got to get all this out. =)
When I was pregnant with Olivia
I never really experienced any of the crazy hormones.
I might have cried a couple of times, but that was it!
I didn't feel like my entire body was taken over
by some kind of crazy alien person
who's entire purpose is to make me feel
completely & totally OUT OF CONTROL!
Three words:
Pregnancy Hormones Suck!
This past weekend, my hormones must have been at a peak.
I lost count of how many times I cried.
Yeah, it was mainly over stupid, petty little things,
but I'm not a crier.
Yes, I cry sometimes, but I can usually keep it together.
However, this weekend must have been a total exception.
There are some things going on in our lives that
Ben & I are praying and seeking God over,
and maybe the devil just got the best of me
and took complete control,
but I hate being so upset and crying and crying.
I mean what good does it do anyways?
I know that God is still God and HE is able to handle
anything and everything that we throw His way!
I just hate feeling out of control and like I'm "losing it".
I know that it's these CRAZY hormones,
but man, I'm so ready for them to disappear!
Please remember us in prayer
(yes, things are fine with Ben & I),
it's not "us,"
but there are just some things that are going
on in our lives that we're in prayer about.
I'm not really at a place where I can elaborate,
but please when you pray, say a prayer for us.
Thanks for listening to my big long spew,
sometimes it's best just to vent. =)

Owen's Baby Shower Invitation

It's almost that time...again...
another baby shower... for..
myself. ha.
Believe me, I did not plan on getting pregnant again...
for AWHILE!
Nevertheless, we couldn't be happier about it now.
I just got the proof of my baby shower invitation
and it is ADORABLE!
I ordered it from Sweet Papers on Etsy.
I LOVE that you can order custom cards
and they don't cost you a fortune!
I think the total cost for printing, mailing, envelopes, etc.
was around 20-25 dollars!
You can't beat that!

Our Beautiful Little Beaux

Yesterday we had our 4D ultrasound!
I had been looking forward to it
ever since we found out that we were expecting again.
It just amazes me how far technology has come since
I was even born, which come on, wasn't all that long ago. ha.
I hope you enjoy all of the pictures of his sweet little face.
When we got home we compared them to Olivia's 4D
and they look identical.
I can't wait until he gets here
to see how they interact with one another.

marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well"

My Boo-tiful Bumble Bee

Even though this was not Olivia's "first" Halloween,
to me, it kind of was.
Last year she was only 8 days old on Halloween.
I had made her a tutu and she had a pumpkin onsie
and we went to see my grandparents and that was it.
This year....
she was a BUMBLE BEE!!
And I have to say... she was the cutest bee I've ever seen. ;-)
Even though she's still too little for
"trick or treating,"
we enjoyed dressing her up and
going to see some of our family.
We also enjoyed the fall festival and
trunk or treat that we had at our church!
I know there will be many more Halloweens to come
and I look forward to them.
It's fun making new traditions with our little family.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

12 Month Update

Olivia~
You are now ONE!!!
(Sorry for the delay... we've been busy).
Boy, how you have changed in a year!
Friday we went to the doctor for your check-up and shots. =(
The doctor says you're right where you need to be.
However, you had to get SIX, yes SIX shots!
And a finger stick!
(Needless to say, mommy & daddy were broken hearted).
But you did great!
I think the shots gave you lots of energy because
you were bouncing off the walls Friday night. ha.

You now weigh 20 lbs. and a few oz.
(I forgot the exact amt).
Your height, weight & head growth are right on target!
There's a few changes the doctor wants us to make...
We have to get rid of your bottle!
CRAZY, I KNOW,
but the doctor says you need to only take your sippy cup.
So, no more bottle... only sippy. =(
I'm sorry sissy girl!

Also, no more formula, only whole milk.
I'm pretty happy about this one,
and you seem to be liking it pretty good.
We're also working on some more table foods,
because girly you like to eat! =)

You are a babbling machine!
You rattle and rattle.
Words you actually say these days are:
Momma, Dada, Popp-e, Bye bye, Hi, ba-ba,
sometimes Pap Paw & baby.
(I'm sure that there's some more words that I'm leaving out,
but those are the only ones I can think of).
You wear a size 3 diaper
and 9 to 12 month clothes.
You are getting to be one big girl!
I can't believe that in a couple more months
you'll have a little brother!!

Mommy & Daddy love you with all of our hearts!!
You truly make are lives COMPLETE!!

Olivia's 1st Birthday

I still can't believe that Olivia is now ONE!
Time has just flown by.
She's such a ball of fun these days.
She's really starting to get a personality.
At her party when she was opening her presents,
she would smile and clap her hands.
It was too cute!
Praising the Lord. =)
Waiting for her cake
Clapping her hands. So sweet!
 And again. ;-)
Her birthday "theme" was pumpkins...
Here's her monogrammed pumpkin.
Again, Praising the Lord! (My mom taught her this). ha!
After a little while she finally started getting into her cake
I think she liked her cone most of all. Ha!
Her #1 fan... her Poppy
Is this not the sweetest face?

Thanks to everyone who made her day so special!
We love you!
