SPRAY TAN!!!!

I know I usually use my blog to write about my kids so I can use it as an online scrapbook/journal, but today it's about me. I don't know what it is about a spray tan, but I swear I feel so much better about myself everytime I get one. I used to go every week and get "sprayed", but when I got pregnant that all stopped because who really wants to go and bare all adding on about 40-50 extra pounds? Not me so I just quit going. We're going to the lake this week for vacation and I decided to go get spray tanned. I'm so happy that I did. I swear I feel like I just lost 10 pounds and I just feel better about myself. You be the judge... which "me" looks better?
I'm voting... AFTER...
spray tan definitely wins. =)
(sorry for the random pics. I didn't actually take a pic of me before and after).

SIX months!!!!

Owen is SIX months old today!!! Like I always say, time flys! He's getting so big!! Literally!! lol! We had to start the day off at the doctor's office so he could get his six month shots. =( You'd think as many times as I've had to go through it with Olivia and now him that it would get easier, but it doesn't. It's just pitiful. It's instant hurt and then they'll just look at you and cry. It breaks my heart every time.
Here he is waiting to see Dr.Joyce and waiting to get the dreaded shots. Like I said, he's getting to be one big boy!
He weighs: 16.6 pounds!!
He's also started holding his bottle. It's so cute. I also like to "faux-hawk" his hair. LOL! Dr. Joyce said she guessed since he doesn't have very much hair that I have to do something with what he's got and she's right about that. All of his hair is on top. He's pretty much bald in the back. LOL!
Unfortunately, he's still not sleeping through the night. We usually get up with him around 3 to 4 times a night!! Thankfully Ben's a great dad and we usually split the time between us. However, Dr. Joyce said we can start him on baby food today so maybe that will help. He will not eat the rice cereal. I've tried and tried and tried and he HATES it. So we've just been giving him his formula and half strength apple juice. We've finally got a formula that he's satisfied with. He's now on Enfamil for Fussiness and Gas. It's helped out a bunch, but like I said, he's still not sleeping. It makes it hard because Olivia has always slept, but Owen is just a totally different baby.
He's definitely wired differently than Olivia. She's always slept through the night and has always had a pretty good appetite, but he doesn't have those traits. He's can just wear me out. I love him dearly, but he likes to be held and Olivia was just never that way. She's always been Miss Independent. But he's so sweet. I just can't believe how big he's getting. People kill me because I took them with me to Wal-Mart the other day and Olivia was sitting in the front and Owen was in the buggie in his carrier and someone said, "look, twins!" I mean really? Really? First off, yes they are almost the same size, but one is walking and talking and the other one is in a baby carrier. It doesn't really make sense to me.
However, this is one way to get Owen to light up. I think this is the happiest that I've ever seen him. This is his little girlfriend Keeli (or Kiki as Olivia calls her). She's two weeks younger then Owen, but he just loves her. They came over the other day for a play date and him and her had the best time. They just look at one another and try to grab each other. It's so cute! I can't wait until they get older and they can really play with one another. They're so sweet!

Owen,
You have made our lives complete! I bawled and scawled when we found out that we were having you, but now that you're here, I wouldn't trade it for the world! Your sister absolutely adores you and I have to say your daddy and I feel the same. You are my sweet little man and I'm so glad God blessed us with you!!
We love you!!

The BIG 2-0, 20 months that is =)

I can't believe Olivia is 20 months old today!! I know I say this quite often, but I can't believe how big she's getting... it seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital and now she's running around and talking, time just goes by way too fast.
Olivia is in to EVERYTHING these days!! Just the other day I was still at work and Ben was on Facebook and somehow Olivia wrote on my wall "Cc@fohcgnnidiugg":\k" Ben then wrote, "That was Olivia, I'm not sure what she said, but she meant it." LOL! She's so funny. That same day, she also called and left me the sweetest voicemail. She said, "Mommy, mommy, mommy" (in the cutest voice) and then she blew me a few kisses and said, "Bye, bye." It's things like that that make my heart melt.
She's also got where she will come up to Ben or me and just wrap her arms around our legs and give us hugs. It's so sweet. Ben and I both like to say it's times like that that make it all worth it! LOL! However, she can be a little stinker. She's going through the hitting phase and I've pretty much decided that one way or the other she's going to be broke from it. She's not really trying to hit any one, she just swats her hands like she wants to hit. It's ridiculous. Time out and spankings are pretty much a regular occurrence around here.
She still LOVES her blankie as you can see. Wherever she goes, it goes. Half of the time she wants to put it in the bath with her, but we obviously don't allow that. Her favorite foods these days are doggies (hot dogs), sausage biscuits and bananas. She used to have a love for some chicken nuggets, but I think we're getting out of that phase. Her favorite words to say are: No (lol!), Daddy, Mommy, Bubba, Owen, Mimi, Poppy's (yes, it went from Poppy to Poppy's, I think it's because we always ask her if she wants to go to Mimi & Poppy's house), juice, blankie, Dora, Tales & Livie (Olivia). Other funny things that she's been doing/saying.. when we say our prayers, she says, "me-men" that means Amen. LOL! She's one funny girl. She LOVES her bubba. I was so scared when we found out that we were expecting Owen that when he got here she would try to kill him, but it's been completely opposite. She loves him dearly and I'm pretty sure the feelings are mutual. =)

Olivia,
You are the sweetest, most rotten, loving, most crazy girl I know, but I sure do love you for it!!! Please slow down and stop growing. LOL! You're just getting way too big, way too fast. I love you with all of my heart and "as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be."
Love,
Mommy

Happy Father's Day

Life Lessons
You may have thought I didn't see,
Or that I hadn't heard,
Life lessons that you taught to me,
But I got every word.
Perhaps you thought I missed it all,
And that we'd grow apart,
But Dad, I picked up everything,
It's written on my heart.
Without you, Dad, I wouldn't be
The woman I am today;
You built a strong foundation
No one can take away.
I've grown up with your values,
And I'm very glad I did;
So here's to you, dear father,
From your forever grateful kid.
By Joanna Fuchs
To my Dad:
You were a great dad, but I have to say, you're an amazing Grandad aka Poppy. Olivia loves you more than you will ever know and I have a pretty good idea that those feelings are mutual. I know that when Owen gets a little bigger you two will be big buddies also. Thanks for everything you have done/do for us. We love you very much! Happy Father's Day!

To Ben:
I'm so glad that I'm your wife and get to raise my kids with you. You are such an amazing dad. Every night when you get home, no matter what kind of day you had, you get down in the floor and play with them and love on them. I know when they grow up that those will be the memories that they cherish. Thanks for always helping by changing diapers, making bottles, feeding them, giving baths, etc. You truly are a great dad and I hope you have a very Happy Father's Day! I love you!!

Date Night ;)

Kids change everything. I love them both dearly, but your world turns upside down when you have kids. All your time and energy is completely devoted to them and their well being and you rarely have time to think about yourself much less even think about going out somewhere without them. As you read between the lines, it's been A LONG TIME since Ben & I enjoyed a night out, just the two of us. It's not that we haven't wanted to go out, something usually comes up or we don't want to leave the kids, etc. However, last night we got a much needed date night thanks to Allie. She watched the kids for us while we went out.
We had so much fun. We went to see the Hangover 2. I have to say, yes it's very crude, but it was one of the funniest movies that I've ever seen! We laughed and laughed and laughed. Then we went and enjoyed fajitas and a brownie at El Chicos and then we went to Live on Broadway. It's a little arts and music festival that downtown has on Saturday nights during the summer. We really enjoyed getting to spend time together and just thinking about us and not having to worry about poopy diapers or baths or is it time to feed them again? We had a lot of fun and I hope that we do it more often. Thanks again Allie for watching the kiddos. (I didn't take any pics of Ben & I while we were out, but it looks like the kids had fun at Allie's). =)

Sleepover with Mimi & Poppy

I don't have any pictures with this post, but I have to say I'm a little nervous, but yet excited. Tonight is the first time that both Owen and Olivia have spent the night with my mom and dad. Olivia spends the night with them all the time, but they've never asked for both of them to spend the night and I have to say, this is just music to my ears. Ben and I may actually be able to enjoy some much needed time together, just the two of us, and also get some much needed sleep!! =)
Thanks Mom & Dad, you guys are the BEST!!!

Swim Lessons

Today was the big day... our first swim lesson...
It didn't go as well as I would've hoped, but she sure looked cute. ;)
This was her first time being in a "big" pool. We go to the lake and get in the water all the time without a problem, but it's usually only in water that she can touch. She wasn't too fond of the deep water.
She loved looking at the water...
Even pointing & acting like she wanted in the water...
But in all reality, it was a little bit of a mess. Ms. Kim her instructor was very sweet and patient and she walked around with her and let her play with the toys, but most of all she just wanted to get out of the pool and come to her Mama. =) I'm not sure if we'll go have another lesson or just wait until she gets a little more comfortable with deeper water.

Baby Shower for Sean & Alyssa

We had Sean & Alyssa's baby shower today for baby Asher Ellis! (Isn't that just the cutest name?)
I didn't take a ton of pics, but it was super cute. We had strawberry & chocolate petit fours from The Cake Lady (AMAZING) & we also had chicken salad. It was all very tasty. Here's the cute family opening their gifts:
Addi, Alyssa & Allie. Getting ready to open the presents.

Sean, Addi & Alyssa.

How cute is this onsie?

To Sean, Alyssa & Addi,
I'm so glad that our paths have crossed in this life. You guys are so sweet and I love that our kids are getting to grow up with one another. I can't wait until little Asher gets here and him and Owen get to play like Addi and Olivia. We always have so much fun spending time with you guys. You guys really are true blue friends and we love you!!
