Catching Up~ Olivia is 8 months old

Thankfully this weekend I started feeling like myself again.
Praise the Lord! =)
Let me just tell you, it's not fun being sick.
I'm hoping and praying that I'm over all of it.
Anywhos, I guess this will kind of be a little catch up post
(mostly for our remembrance, but hopefully you'll enjoy it too).
While being sick Olivia turned 8 months old!!
I still can't believe how the time is flying by.
She weighs around 18 pounds.
She LOVES to eat!!!
Usually she eats 4 to 6 baby food jars a day with a few bottles in between.
Like I said... she LOVES to eat. ha!
She does not like mashed/whipped potatoes.
Random, I know, but she gags and spits them out. ha.
However, she LOVES home-made sugar free strawberry ice cream.
(Her poppy feeds it to her every night if we're up at the lake).
And she LOVES gravy, but come on, who doesn't love some gravy. ha.
Like I said, the child LOVES to eat.
She is still not crawling yet, but she likes being on her stomach and she can semi-crawl backwards and she spins around in circles. She can pretty much get to what she wants, but she just doesn't want to crawl. She'll lay in the floor and look like she's swimming, but she won't put her knees under her enough to actually crawl.
In a way, it's kind of entertaining. ha.
But, she likes to pull up. I've decided that she's not going to crawl and she's just going to start walking. She's always pulling up and she loves standing up.
She's such a MESS!!
Everyday she's getting bigger and bigger and finally she's starting to get more hair.
It's really blond, but it's there. YAY!
She's wearing a size 3 diaper and anywhere from 3-6 to 6-9 months clothes.
(It just depends on how it's made).
She loves pulling her bows off her head and she's not the biggest fan of shoes, but I can't blame her because it's just too hot.
Other than that, she's really getting a personality and she makes us laugh everyday.
While I was admitted in the hospital she started talking.
Her new words are: "ba ba and bye bye."
She's also started to wave, but she waves bye to herself not to other people. ha.
It's really the cutest thing.
I was thinking this past weekend and I really don't remember our lives before her.
I have no clue what we did with all of our time... last night she spent the night with her Mimi and Poppy and we were just lost without her.
She definitely makes our lives complete!

Olivia~ we love you with all of our hearts!!
Love, Mommy & Daddy

Unintentional Blogging Break

Hi strangers!
Again, I have unintentionally taken a blogging break.
However, I have had very good reasons...
As you all know, we're expecting Baby #2.
Yes, I'm still in shock, but I think I'm finally starting to come around. ha.
Over the past few weeks, I have been REALLY sick.
I did not realize how sick I actually was until last week I was admitted in the hospital for being severely dehydrated.
Yeah, that was no fun.
I had lost 6 pounds in four weeks and it took 3 sweet nurses and 6 sticks until they finally got the IV in my arm. Like I said, no fun.
However, I am starting to feel like my old self again.
I'm not a sick person and I HATE being sick, unfortunately though, with this pregnancy that's pretty much all it's been.
I'm looking forward to brighter, happier, less sick days. =)
I apologize for not having any pictures of Olivia in this post, but honestly I haven't even taken any pictures of her recently because of my lovely sick episodes.
But like I said I'm getting better day by day and I thank everyone for all the prayers and support that has been shown to our family throughout all of this.
I do want to say...
I LOVE MY PARENTS AND MY HUSBAND MORE THAN ANYTHING IN THIS WHOLE WORLD!
I do NOT have a clue what I would have done last week or the past few weeks without them!!! They're wonderful! I don't think I'll ever be able to thank them enough for everything they've done/do for me!
But other than that, I wish good health to everyone, myself included. ha.
And hopefully pics of Olivia to come soon...
I can't believe it, but she's EIGHT months old TODAY!!
Wow how times flys.

My Two Loves

This was the scene at our house the other night...
Ben was changing a tire and Olivia was offering her moral support. ha.
I think that they'll have many more days like this in the future.
Daddy & "the Boss."
It makes me smile because I used to "help" my dad and go with him
everywhere and everyone would always say "you've got 'the boss' with you today" and he'd would always reply, "yep, sure do."
There's nothing like the bond that daddys and little girls share. :-)

Not the Best Week...

Let me just start out by saying...
This week has been somewhere in between the intersection of bad and horrible.
Earlier in the week I broke out in a TERRIBLE case of sun poisoning!
Thank the good Lord for Medrol, Benadryl & Vinegar.
I have been soaking in vinegar baths and living off the steroids and benadryl.
Later on in the week Olivia got terribly sick.
We took her to the doctor yesterday and after waiting for 2 hours we finally got to see the doctor. After another hour and four, yes I said, four prescriptions later we got to leave. I had almost forgot what the doctor said that she has by the time we left. ha.
Needless to say, she's one sick little girl.
Thankfully, it hasn't really affected her mood, but you can just tell she does not feel good.
On top of that, I had an emotional meltdown yesterday because I felt like I had to choose between my job and taking care of my child. For anyone who is a stay at home mom, be thankful, very thankful. I know the days can get long being at home, but I would give anything... ANYTHING to be able to be at home with my little sweet girl.
It's not fun being put in a position where you have to choose.
Sorry for my ongoing rambling and venting and ranting and raving, but this week has just SUCKED! I'm thrilled that today is Friday and I can go home after work and curl up with Ben & Olivia and do absolutley NOTHING!!
I have a really cute post about Ben and Olivia from earlier in the week when life was actually happy, but I'll post it later this weekend.
But for now I hope you enjoyed the pics of O,
this was earlier in the week when she felt good.
I hope you have a great weekend!

Show Us Your Life ~ Random Acts of Kindness

Today over at Kelly's Korner for Show Us Your Life...
It's Random Acts of Kindness

I love random acts of kindness.
A little something that may not mean much to you could be the world to someone else.

My random acts of kindness thoughts are:
1. Pay for the order for the car behind you in the drive-thru
(I had never thought of this before until the Christian radio station, AFR was holding the "Drive-thru Difference" I thought this was the neatest idea).
2. Fixing a meal and taking it to someone who just had a baby, surgery or just got out of the hospital.
3. Help an elderly person put their groceries in their car.
4. Help an elderly person to their car.
5. Mow someone's yard.
6. Surprise your pastor and clean the church
(At our church we don't have a janitor).
7. Mow someone's yard.
8. Pay someone a compliment.
9. Open the door for another person.
10. Deliver baked goods to a nursing home, hospital, school, etc.

I know some of these "acts" are big and some are small, but you never know what kind of impact you could make on someone's day just by being nice.

Memorial Day Weekend

Sorry to take a break from blogging...
It wasn't intentional, we've just been busy little bees lately.
We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend with our friends and family.
Olivia & I went up to the lake Friday night after I got off work and spent the night/Saturday with Poppy. (I think he enjoyed it).
One of my most favorite things to do up at the lake is go eat at breakfast at Bee Springs.
Even though it's the campground right next to ours, we usually get on the boat and ride over and eat breakfast outside. My dad aka Poppy says it's the ambiance. ha.
Anyways, since we didn't have the boat docked, we ended up riding the golf cart over there. (Olivia loves riding the golf cart).
The breakfast was good, of course, and of course, I love eating outdoors by the lake, but what wasn't so good was it cost us $20 bucks to eat breakfast.
Mind you, it was just me and my dad. We both had toast, eggs, home fries & bacon or sausage. He had coffee and I had a can Dr. Pepper.
I mean, come on, $20?? Really.
Needless to say, my favorite summer tradition has now gone by the wayside.
We'll be fixing our own breakfast. Ha.
Nevertheless, that didn't stop our weekend fun.
Olivia must love the lake, but it wears her out.
This was her pretty much all weekend...
Sorry for the poor quality, it was dark and I took it with my iPhone.
Then here she is again... Sweet girl =)
Other than sleeping and paying way too much for breakfast we had a fish fry Sunday afternoon and grilled out Monday afternoon and played corn-hole and then little Ms. O went swimming for the very first time.
She LOVES her pool!
She would lay on her back and then flip over to her stomach and hang on to the side of the pool and pull herself around. It was the cutest thing. Then she started putting her face in the water and starting drinking the water. Lord, she's a hand-full. =)
Overall, we had a great weekend and we're happy that summer has unofficially begun.
Time to get on the water and have fun.
Happy Summer!
